The Verses that Comfort U & Me

09.21.08 (2:11 am)   [edit]
Here are some verses that have comforted me:

"Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not
afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest."
~Joshua 1:9~

"But HE knows the way that I take.
When HE has tested me, I will come forth as gold."
~Job 23:10~

John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." - Jesus Christ.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light."
~Matthew 11:28-30~

"In returning and rest shall you be saved. In quietness and confidence
shall be your strength. But you would not"
~Isaiah 30:15~

"Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed."
~Psalm 31:9-10~

"Be still and know that I am God"
~Psalms 46:10~

Sometimes we need to just STOP, and be Quiet so that we can listen to God. It is so easy to do things our own way and then say "Please Lord, Bless this"

But God's GRACE is sufficient. I know this from personal experience. For when I am weak then He is strong, He can indeed take our tragedies and turn them into triumph.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
~2 Corinthians 12:9~

When I traveled through my "Job" years of sickness, turmoil and loss it was the GRACE of God that sustained me. But it was also the Word of God that I had memorized and hidden in my heart that FED me. When there was no one to turn to for help, the Lord protected me, He brought me back to life.

The verses listed below will remind you that the Lord is near and waiting to hear your cry out to Him. If you ask Him, He will wipe away your tears:

"What time I am afraid I will trust in thee"
~Psalms 56:3~

"There hath no temptation taken you but such that is common to man. But God is faithful who will not tempt you beyond that which ye are able but will with that temptation make a way in which to escape."
~1 Corinthians 10:13~

"Cast all your care on Him, for He careth for you"
~1 Peter 5:7~

What you are going through right now is kind of like playing dominoes.  You remember the way that you line them all up on their side and when you touch one they all fall down. So many actions cause more actions and then add to that your reactions.  Can you see how they are all connected? Does that make any sense? It is not always the action that is the problem. Some times the problem really is our reaction to the action.

Have you read Psalms 139
? It is really wonderful! It tells us that God knows everything about us and He still loves us. He knows what we have done, what we are doing and what we will do BUT He still loves us. Unconditionally! So if you are feeling unloved or alone just read this Psalm for some comfort. Remember that the Lord is in control. His love is the BEST kind of love.

During difficult times reading a Psalm a day can give you great comfort.
Stay in the Word of God and Pray.

Have you ever looked underneath a cross-stitch or needlepoint canvas?

It really looks like a mess. Lots of knots and loose strings. BUT if you look at it from the top it is all neat, orderly and beautiful. Sometimes our life seems like that too. We get all caught up in the little details and forget to see the bigger picture from the top. So next time you are looking at your life and everything looks all messed up, stop and look
at it from the top. Remember that in the Lord's eyes you are
beautiful and He has everything under control.............
even if it doesn't look like it to you right now.

We all need comfort!

be overwhelming at times for all of us.

The Word of God is full of wonderful promises that I know can comfort you.
So if you came here feeling a little discouraged then you are in the right place!

Our God is an awesome God. He reigns...........

"Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted."
~Isaiah 49:13~

Our God is the God of all comfort! Not even the tiniest details of your life are unnoticed by the Lord! He knows all about you and loves you just the same. He loves you unconditionally.

God loves you! You are not alone! Even though sometimes it may seem that way.

"God comforts us in all our afflictions so that we may be able to
comfort them which are in trouble, by the comfort
wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
~2 Corinthians 1:3-4~

The Bible is full of wonder, awe and yet is practical and full of God's promise

Why do I blog?

09.17.08 (12:49 am)   [edit]

I blog to put down my thoughts from the Bible..for many to see, read and perhaps practise.

"A word spoken from the Holy Bible does not return without fulfilling its purpose."

Here, i see young christians like me, waiting in secret, hiding hopes in the heart that one day God will speak to them, waiting for that warm and soothing touch from up above. Something i did not know but believed to have existed since i could remember..and then i grew up, adolescence and desires not fit for a child of God were all that i was concerned about.

I hear messages and write ups pointing out to our dark spots, that which is not good in the eyes of the Lord, some of them offer advice and try to console us. But not many provide solutions to the sins that still make us feel guilty, shameful and dirty in mind.

I say with full faith that i was 'touched' by The Lord, No, I did not feel a physical sensation such as a hand on my head or shoulders. But i was 'inspired' when i read the Bible. Many passages were ones which i could easily associate myself with.

The interaction with the Holy Spirit and his Gifts started, when one fine day i decided to pray before going to bed.

I would sing a worship song or two (in a low voice), eyes firm shut and pray. I once said..."O' Lord, My Heavenly Father, I thank you for everything. I want to know more about you, your people, your place...everything. What do you want me to do? How may i do it? Please speak to me. I know i'm unfit and shadowed in sin for you to speak directly to me, so please speak to me through a Pastor. Amen."

I also made it a point to read Psalms 23 every day, as it is a collection of promises for each one of us. Reading it every day helped me put more and more trust in what i was seeking. The moment we start believing, Our sweet Lord, would speak to us, through someone or his word.

My sincere and honest request to all people like me out there, young or old, simply try!

Try speaking to the Lord, tell him you are sorry of not seeking him until today and now is the time. Tell him, you want someone to love so badly and you are choosing him, tell him that you want his love and care in abundance, tell him, you want the holy spirit as your friend, plead for his love and ours is a God who does not ignore who call out to him.

You may not hear from the Lord, during the first prayer, but then, we will keep asking our Father in Heaven, we shall keep asking him, keep requesting him to reveal himself to us and he will. Simply believe.

Unequally Yoked

09.16.08 (11:52 pm)   [edit]

2 Corinthians 6:14

" Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? "

Just the other day I was at the Baselios College Fair. My friends decided it would be good if I experienced the fair. While walking around eating the normal fair food I saw two oxen yoked together. These were huge animals; my guess is the height of their backs was about 5 foot 10. When I saw these ox yoked together I decided to take a close look. First of all a yoke is a piece of wood that fits around each animal’s neck and are connected as one piece. Watching those oxen really made this verse come alive to me. If one of those animals would have been a different size they would have struggled back and fourth and would not have been able to move a wagon or anything else forward. Even a chance for a broken neck. (read;broken heart)

If we are yoked together with an unbeliever we will always struggle and never have any forward momentum in life. God does not want you to date an unchristian guy or gal. I know many Christians that know this verse but they refuse to listen because they want that boyfriend or girlfriend more then they want to obey God. In other words the person they have fallen in love with gets the top spot in their life and God moves down a couple of notches.

Are you willing to do the right thing today?

No More Shame

09.16.08 (11:42 pm)   [edit]

Isaiah 54:4

" Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. The shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood will be remembered no more. "

So, have you ever experienced shame? Maybe you have done something that would rate a ten on the stupid scale, lol! Maybe it’s just knowing you have failed the Lord and you are carrying that shame today. Perhaps you went to far physically with your boyfriend or girl friend and you are carrying the shame of that act. You might be dealing with self-injury, pornography, rebellion etc… Regardless of what you are dealing with today, God does not intended on you carrying shame. This verse is very clear that you will no longer live in shame.

All of us blow it from time to time. This doesn’t give us a license to sin but we can be assured that God’s mercy and forgiveness is for us. Satan loves to come and put the shame of your sin on your shoulders. When you fall, stop right there and confess it to the Lord. Tell him you are sorry and move on. Don’t let shame slow you down or make you feel like you are not worthy of his forgiveness or walking with him as close as you use to.
